‘1099’ is the second part of ‘2099’, a series of photographic works by Sybren Vanoverberghe.

The work originates from his interest in how time changes the landscape and the objects that can be found within. Vanoverberghe is questioning how we look at artifacts, icons and our (nearby) historical surroundings. In ‘1099’ the focus of the work is mainly put on the materiality that can be found at several historical locations. The book shows diverse elements dealing with a notion of the constant evolution of history.
