Featuring the work of 20 outstanding young artists selected through the annual Foam Talent Call, Foam Magazine #48: Talent is an inspiring overview of the developments being made by a new generation of gifted image-makers from around the world. Each portfolio published in the Talent Issue is accompanied by a critical essay offering further insight into the nature and concept of the project.

At a time of significant global uncertainty, it is fitting that a number of the featured artists express varied socio-political concerns in their work. As well as portfolios with powerful aesthetic signatures, the 11th edition of the Talent Issue also includes a striking number of long-term projects, each one having acquired greater depth and meaning through time.

Beyond the Talent portfolios, regular features include a view of Peter Puklus’ working methods in Toolbox, a Self Portrait comprising works from Zanele Muholi’s ongoing Somnyama Ngonyama series, as well as an extended conversation between AA Bronson and Wolfgang Tillmans.
