A tribute to queer friendships, ‘When the City Sleeps’ is a personal collection of photographs by Parisian photographer Nordine Makhloufi. Featuring his close friends, Dustin, Nix, Raya, and other friends who are also queer artists, Makhloufi’s intimate portraits celebrate their queerness, pride, courage, and creativity. The bold images take you on a journey through their lives and offer honest glimpses into moments of vulnerability and community around Paris, France. This is the artist’s first book, and includes a poem by his friend Hugo Kreit, who is also featured in the photographs.
