Philippe Weisbecker’s work is a constant search for simplicity and the essence of the subjects he draws. Thoughtfulness, humility and pleasure is discernable in the manner he transcribes reality in the most prosaic and genuine way, from his kitchen to his street and the shelves of the local hardware store. As a well organized storekeeper, Weisbecker proceeds by series. Here, yet again, with this collection of train stations and small electrical transformers. Joyo Oh is the name of the Spanish manufacturer that produces those railway toys, that are reproduced here in this facsimile of a drawing book achieved in 2019.
