After examining Tokyo's train stations in his 2022 book “Station,” Japanese photographer Takeshi Shinoda now explores the city's greenhouses through the camera. Less interested in the physical structures of these locations, Shinoda’s black-and-white photographs focus on the oppressive humidity, sickly sweet scents, and their otherworldly atmosphere. His unusually dark prints depict the tropical plants growing in the closed space of the greenhouses as exotic and almost unnatural, yet still fascinating.
