During his travels through the world, Koji Onaka (“Tokyo Candy Box”, “Grasshopper”) photographed the cats he encountered.

Spain, Portugal, Latvia, the Philippines, China, Thailand, Vietnam or Georgia – Onaka has been around, and the cats he met and features are, in the end, cats, no matter where they may live. The simple message (from the book’s title – “cats are cats”) combines with Onaka’s brilliantly framed pictures to not only introduce the reader to a variety of scenes around the world but also shares a solidary look at how we cohabitate with other species.
