In his postcard book Freeriders of History the photographer Jens Klein presents 32 photographic views of nineteenth- and twentiethcentury monuments, which are all dedicated to “mythic” events and people of German history: from the Battle of Leipzig to the end of the World War II, from Bismarck to Thälmann. The images are taken from the Deutsche Fotothek in Dresden. His selection of images proposes neither a chronological sequence nor a formal classification.
